Battle of Montereau

This battle took place in the Campaign of 1814. Napoleon showed much of his former skills during this time as he scrambled to save his Empire.

The action took place February 18, 1814 and resulted in a victory over the Austrians and Württembergers when Napoleon concentrated 25,000 against the Allied 15,000.

On the back of this print (dated 1856) was a description printed in Dutch. A gentleman wrote to let me know that it was not German (I wondered).
