Wagram

The village of Wagram is known for two things. The first is the Austrian battle with Napoleon in 1809. Unlike the first battle at Aspern-Essling, the Austrians pretty much lost this one and it led to the armistice that ended the war.

The second thing it is known for is the first use of trains in Austria in 1837. Not really interesting to me but for you train nuts... Wagram

You can see that fabulous belly a little better. This monument is just standing in the center of town. It is quite beautiful, an Austrian grenadier is carrying his flag while standing guard over his comrade.
